Baby health clinics

If you have any concerns come and have a chat with a Health Visitor (Tuesday 11am – 12.30pm). This could be about your child's behaviour, play, development, speech, eating, tantrums and toilet training, or have your baby weighed.

Development checks

Targeted two year developmental checks are carried out by a Health Visitor and Family Health Worker.

Baby massage

Are you having difficulty settling your baby?
Does he/she cry a lot?
Does he/she seem tense & anxious?
Are you having difficulty with feeding or sleeping?

Or

Are you having difficulty enjoying your baby?
Are you finding it difficult to meet your baby's demands?
Do you feel low, anxious or depressed?
Would you like to feel more confident in managing your baby?
Would you like to get to know your baby better through massage classes?

The massage classes are run by 2 specially trained workers. They offer one session a week for 5 weeks. The massage teaches you to understand the baby is trying to be in touch with you from a very early age. If you are able to be in touch with each other you may find your baby becomes a more contented baby, this may help you start to enjoy each other.

Health promotions

"Get it on"

At the Woking Children's Centre as part of our programme to support families we have a confidential service which provides free condoms to young people under the age of 21. This service promotes safer sex helping to reduce sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy.

Smoking Cessation

If you or a family member are considering giving up smoking, you can call our Smoking Cessation Advisor at the Centre to discuss your options and planning for giving up. Evidence suggests you are more likely to be successful by having the support of a Smoking Cessation Advisor.

Other regular promotions include:

Healthy eating workshops
Swimming sessions
Organised walks
